The gigabots program was established in 2010. We started as a rookie team, but we have risen to be a very powerful program. We are composed of 8 separate robot teams with 40 total members in our program each school year.. We all work as a group together, but compete as separate teams. In the last 3 years we have almost doubled our trophy count. We also brought home 3 U.S. open championship trophies in 2015. We also won the programming skills champion award. The team also brought home a design award in 2015 during the skyrise world championship in Louisville, Kentucky
We compete in middle school tournaments early on in the season. After Christmas we start entering into mixed tournaments to test ourselves before the state, national, and world competitions. We strive to take the biggest number of teams our district/ the tournament directors will allow. This helps us in the elimination rounds, as we can create an all gigabots alliance. This gives us a good chance at winning the tournament champion award because we are already accustomed with driving with each other.
